High School Focus

An incredible opportunity exists right now among the youth of Mexico. A wave of ambitious adolescents now in high school have been dubbed the NAFTA generation. Growing up under the influence of the free trade agreement, these hip youngsters have seen an influx of commercial goods and prosperity and have been exposed to a bastion of ideas. They do not settle for their parents' views and have higher educational and economic goals. Yet with this new prosperity, they have seen a marked separation between the rich and the poor and stand poised ready to do something about it. We want to help them.

We work with high school leaders to help them learn how to live out their faith and impact the world around them. They have a greater hunger for life than the generation before them and simply need someone to come alongside them and help them find their purpose.

Currently we work on high school campuses that are directly linked with a university campus. We help student leaders launch movements and also engage in service opportunities.

In the summer of 2008, nearly 70 high school students from over 25 different nations gathered in Mexico City to reach out to other high schoolers and bless the city. One student put his perspective of the city into a video. Some of it looks like motion film, but it was all done with stills.
